“How does a remote online notary (RON) work?”

A remote online notary (RON) is completed through specialized software that allows the Notary Public to confidently remotely identify the person in front of them, abide by strict privacy requirements, and record the appointment.

Before the scheduled appointment time, you will receive an email or text link to join the remote notary session. Before entering the appointment, you will be asked by the notary service provider to provide identifying information. This includes presenting a copy of your government issued identification. They will ask you to provide a front and back photo of the ID. Once the automatic identification verification is complete, you will be entered into a live video chat with the notary.

Once the Notary Public is satisfied that the document can lawfully be notarized, the Notary Public will then complete the notary certification process.

This process can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the situation.

After the session, your completed documents will be emailed to you.

“If you’e a notary in Washington and I live in Texas, can you notarize my documents?”

Yes!
I am licensed through the State of Washington, but as a remote online notary I can notarize any document anywhere in the world. As long as I can communicate directly with you it doesn’t matter how far apart we are!
